Recent Gigs / News etc

Again - a long time between updates ! I'm sat in Java Express with an excellent cappuccino so who knows - I may start updating the site again more frequently

We are on our summer break as JB and myself and in Back to the 80s and Matt is in Underneath the Arches. Get along to see the shows - they are great :)

We've done some cracking gigs recently.

28th July - Creek in Peel. What a night ! there were at least three groups of people in in fancy dress. JB took a fancy to Minimouse

27th July - Bay in Port Erin. I really wasn't feeling well but the gig sweated most of the illness out of me ! A night of dancing and most of it was on the benches. I'm not sure but I think a few people got banned for dancing ! Some photos courtesy of Martin here Martins Photos

We had a great time at the Corner House dressed up as gangsters. It was our first gig in a pub in Douglas since the office last halloween and it was great fun. We must go back to the Corner House soon. Martin took some great photos that you can see here. Martins Photos

It has been a long time between updates. Matt and I got stuck into the Panto over Christmas which was good. Not so good was having a suspected broken scaphoid in my right wrist and having to have a plaster cast on for a week. Fortunately it turned out not to be broken which was a great relief.

We had a great gig on new years eve at The Brit in Ramsey so thanks to all the people who braved the weather to come out and get up and dance. It was a top night

Wow - what a great gig was! Thanks to everyone who turned up and watched us do a very very silly show :) Thanks to all the staff at the Officewho dressed up in fancy dress and danced on the bar. I kid you not !! It was great. Thanks to the management at the Office for putting up with our (increasingly) bizarre requests.

Of course thanks to Emma, Suzie, Dave H and Neil for the roles they played. Thanks for the smiles, enthusiasm and for putting up with different versions of the script.

Best moment of the night for me had to be JB in gold high heels and trunks upstaging Matt !

Martin took some excellent shots that capture the 'feel' of the night very well. Enjoy !! Martins Photos

We did the photo shoot for the "Pirates" gig at the Office on Sept 23rd. Posters should be out shortly for that one. In fact it is here now!

Last weekend saw another hot and sweaty gig at the Creek in Peel. Top night - we love playing there !

An excellent gig at The Office last weekend with an 'Agent' night

We had an excellent TT week. We started with two great gigs at the Shore in Laxey (thanks Malcolm) and at the Brit in Ramsey (thanks Mandy). Then on Mad Sunday we played at the Bay in Port Erin. What a night ! The room at the Bay is 'compact' but there were 41 people in it at one point. It was a hot and sweaty evening but thanks to a great audience we had an excellent time. It wasn;t so good on the way home when Mr B had a car accident and wrote his car off but then it was TT week.

We then rested for a few days before heading to Bushys tent on Douglas Prom. The evening started with my in-ear monitoring system coming through the Duke PA at the end of Victoria Street as I was on the same channel as them... One quick change of channel later everything was hunky-dory !. It was an excellent night. The number which went down the best was.... "Sweet Transvestite". A great gig. Thanks everyone for dancing :)

Two great gigs last weekend. I was so dazed after my snowboarding trip I couldn't even spell jetlagged never mind anything else ! It was a great crowd at the Highwayman on friday - with compliments from various people about how cool the Peel regulars were. We like it there ! Jonny P was perched on the pool table and nearly keeled over with the heat from the radiator after a couple of numbers. Little did I know it would be my turn on saturday night...

Laxey on Saturday was smokin'... I was by the fireplace and overheated very quickly ! Despite that another good crowd, another good set and a great time had by all.

Thanks to everyone who braved the hideous weather on Friday and Saturday to come and see us play - I hope we made your journeys worth it ?

What a great gig we had at the Office. After the Halloween Special it was always going to be difficult to 'top' that one but we did it. We opened the night with a short act which ended with Johnny Cool being gunned down gangster style by 'Fingers' Thompson. There are some great pictures from the gig courtesy of Adrian Cowin (please visit his website at http://www.adriancowin.com for more excellent gig photos)

St Valentines Day Massacre - Blood and Bullets 1920's style at the Office. Friday 10th Of February.

This is a StoneChase fancy dress party at the Office on Friday 10th of February. We are celebrating St Valentines day 1920's Chicago style with Blood and Bullets

We've had a pretty busy time of it these last two weekends with gigs at The Highwayman, Bushys and The Brit and a spot on the excellent Dan Davies saturday night show on Manx Radio. The radio show was great - Dan was even up on top of the desk at one point 'shaking his stuff' whilst we were playing. Top DJ - give him a listen on Saturday nights from 1800 till 2100.

New Years Eve at the Shore in Laxey.

An excellent time was had by all as we bounced our way into 2006 to the strains of a rockabilly "Auld Lang Syne". Not sure how many party poppers we used but I'm still finding them in my equipment box !

Awesome gig at the Brit in Ramsey.

The Brit has to be one of my favourite places to play and last night did not disappoint me. A great audience which helped us enormously and dragged from us a bouncing set from us with some new numbers, Ken was settling back in nicely and bouncing and smiling as he played some wicked licks on that sweet semi acoustic guitar of his. Despite being under the weather Matt sung up a storm, JB was a little disappointed when he went for the middle table in one number to find a double bass heading straight for him but hey boy, that is my playing place. Jonny P had a nice choreographed dance in time with a few numbers which let me tell you has to be seen to be believed. Tim blew a fine line of harmonica lines with Dave Holland making an appearance on saxophone and bottle of lager!

What a great Halloween weekend we had with gigs at The Office and The Bay with our Halloween Specials. The gig at the Office was awesome ! the whole band was in costume as zombies with full makeup. Matt was dressed up as Zombie Elvis and what a star he is/was. A great night. Pictures of the gig at the Office are available in Gallery 2. We are next back at The Office on Feb 10th 2006 for the St Valentines Day Massacre ....

What is/are StoneChase ?

StoneChase are a five (and sometime four and sometimes three) piece Rockabilly band based in the Isle of Man. The band plays a variety of rockabilly, rock and roll and other tracks all with hi-energy meaning the audience and the band will have a great time. If you haven't seen us play them come on down - but don't expect just to sit back and be entertained - StoneChase usually whip the audience up into a singing and dancing machine. And anyone not singing along to the singalongs is likely to be picked on by Johnny G !
